New Food Service Director is LSC Alum
Students eating in the Stevens Dining Hall will have some fresher food options, thanks to the new Food Service Director, Lyndon State College alum Adam Vigue.
Vigue graduated in 2003, majoring in business administration and small business management. After managing for various food services across New England, he returned to the school he adores in the fall of 2010.
Vigue has many goals to make the eating experience for students on campus healthier and more enjoyable. His focus is on fresh produce, removing as much canned and frozen food as possible. Vigue accomplished his goal when he expanded the salad bar shortly after his arrival.
"We try to have a variety of healthy options," the director said about the addition.
Vigue would like to have two feature meals per semester. Recently, Vermont Soy was displayed in the Stevens Dining Hall to educate students on healthy eating while using sustainable energy.
Vigue is currently "working on making weekends stronger," which would allow for a more choices for students after a tough, homework-filled week. In an effort toward this goal, a new supervisor has been hired at the Hornet's Nest.
Soon to come to the on campus snack bar, "PLATE" will be introduced. Short for Pizza, Latin, Asian, Thai, Everything, "PLATE" will replace the lone pizza option with more variety.
Vigue is rapidly making change in the food service on campus. However, he is aware for more opportunity for success, saying that is "better for students to tell me what they like."
